HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF HENDRICKS COUNTY AND INDIANA UNIVERSITY HEALTH WEST HOSPITAL JOIN TOGETHER TO BUILD PANELS FOR HOME
Habitat for Humanity of Hendricks County, in partnership with Indiana University Health West Hospital, will be holding a "panel build" on Saturday, June 11 in the parking lot of IU Health West on Ronald Reagan Parkway in Avon. A panel build is the first phase of the Habitat construction process and is mainly accomplished by volunteers. In addition to providing the volunteer labor through its employees' participation, IU Health West is also donating funds for the purchase of the home's lumber package.
The wall panels will be moved to a lot in Danville, where the home will be built with a family in need. IU Health West expects approximately 100 of its employees to take part in the panel construction.
"IU Health West is excited to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Hendricks County on this panel build project on June 11th. We realize that there are many obstacles that can stand in the way of a family's health and wellness and the struggle to provide a home for your family is certainly one. This project aligns nicely with our mission to improve the health of our community as we aid a local family in this fundamental need. The Indiana University Health System has a long standing relationship with Habitat for Humanity and we are proud to partner with our local Habitat agency to join in those great efforts here in Hendricks County." Matt Bailey, CEO, Indiana University Health West Hospital.
Habitat for Humanity of Hendricks County is also excited to partner with IU Health West in building the Danville home. Affordable housing in Hendricks County is a vital need that the local Habitat affiliate is able to provide to families who could not find this opportunity elsewhere. Funding for such a project is critical to allow families to get a fresh start in a safe, secure home. "Many people in Hendricks County do not realize the lack of affordable housing in our community and the fact that Habitat needs local support to get this accomplished. All of our funds are raised locally. The sponsorship for this panel build with IU Health West is a huge boost to our immediate needs this year," said Craig Brighton, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Hendricks County.
Habitat for Humanity of Hendricks County builds decent, affordable homes with qualified families in need. For more information on the event, contact Marcia Gentleman, 317-272-1405 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
